Super Short Movie Review: WALL-E

WALL-E is probably one of the greatest animated movies of all time. It’s defiantly the best movie so far this year. Well worth the ticket price plus a $40 tub of popcorn.

Get Smart

Get smart was really funny. Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway make a really great (and hilarious) team.

Blank Themes

Posted on June 24th, 2008 by Dylan

For a long time, when I was starting on a new WordPress theme I’d use a blank theme from a site called Tomorrow’s Laundry. Well, for the past few weeks, there’s been a message saying “Sorry for the downtime - we will be back within a few days.” So I wanted to repost (some) of the blank themes that were hosted there. If the site ever reopens I’ll take them down. But for now… here you go! Simply click to download a .zip file.

Note: I take no credit for designing these themes. I’m simply reposting them for the time being. All credit goes to Will at Tomorrows-Laundry.com

What I want for my birthday: Lawn-mowing robot

Posted on June 17th, 2008 by Dylan

LawnBott It seems that all I do these days is mow the yard. The grass grows so quickly that by the time I’m done, I have to turn around and mow again! Of course, I’m over exaggerating, but some robotic help would be nice. Enter LawnBott. This little red bot reminds me of a Roomba, but you certainly shouldn’t but it in your house? Why? Because it can mow your grass for 4 hours before returning to it’s dock - automatically!

According to the DVICE post where I found it,

It’s said to be so quiet, you can run it in the middle of the night without annoying the neighbors. It will cut up to 33,000 square feet on a charge. LawnBott isn’t afraid of a little water, either — light rain is no problem, and if it senses too much water the Bott makes a beeline for the docking station.

Awesome! Wait… how much would this amazing piece of technology cost me?

Oh…

$1,749? Wonderful.

Microsoft/Yahoo breaking up!

Posted on May 3rd, 2008 by Dylan

According to News.com’s Ina Fried:

Microsoft is withdrawing its offer for Yahoo after talks between the two companies broke down on Saturday, a source told CNET News.com on Saturday.

Microsoft hiked its offer to $33 a share, but Yahoo was holding out for $37 a share, the source said. The two sides met face to face again Saturday, but remained far apart.

Although price was a key issue, Microsoft also had strategic concerns and saw it as unlikely to achieve a friendly integration process. According to a source close to Microsoft, Yahoo founder and CEO Jerry Yang had ‘unrealistic expectations.

What do you think this means for Microsoft? What about Yahoo?

It’s about time that this story get some rest, at least for the time being. We could all use a break from Microhoo.

I can almost certainly say this won’t be the last time we hear of Microsoft/Yahoo.
